Sheryl Powers
Sheryl qualified as an Occupational Therapist in 2011 and has completed post-graduate training to become a Sensory Integration Practitioner, currently working towards her Advanced Practitioner qualification. She has completed additional training in postural management for adults and children with complex disabilities.
She has extensive NHS experience to Band 7 level across acute hospital wards, clinics and Accident and Emergency. As part of an NHS role, she was the therapy lead responsible for managing a community physical rehabilitation unit.
After graduating, Sheryl spent a summer volunteering in a Romanian orphanage for children with complex needs. She has worked with Creative OT since 2015, exclusively since 2020, and more recently became Team Lead.
As soon as I learnt about Occupational Therapy as a profession whilst I was at school, I knew it was what I wanted to do. I appreciate the holistic approach of OT and aspire to enable people to live their life to the fullest by achieving what is meaningful to them. I enjoy the diversity of the role and the individuals I am able to work with. I also relish the opportunity to be creative and inventive when problem solving and providing treatment for my clients.
