Specialist areas — frequently asked questions

Answers to the questions we’re most often asked about our specialist areas and who we support.

Sensory integration therapy helps children and adults whose brains process sensory information differently — things like being overwhelmed by sounds, textures, or movement, or constantly seeking sensory input. Our therapists use Ayres Sensory Integration, an evidence-based approach, to support the nervous system in responding to the world more comfortably. It’s suitable for all ages and a range of conditions including autism, ADHD, and acquired brain injury.
Absolutely — we support people of all ages. Our team works with adults living with acquired brain injury, sensory processing differences, neurodivergence, and physical rehabilitation needs. Whether you’ve had a recent diagnosis, are recovering from a brain injury, or have simply been struggling for years without a clear answer, we’re here to help.
Acquired brain injury (ABI) refers to any damage to the brain that happens after birth — this includes stroke, traumatic head injury, hypoxia, and infection. OT after ABI focuses on rebuilding independence in everyday life: from self-care and household tasks through to community access, returning to work, and emotional regulation. We work at your pace, alongside you and your family, to set goals that feel meaningful to you.
Yes — we offer a range of school-focused services, from setting up a whole-school universal OT approach to individual student support plans and school coaching sessions. We’re experienced in working within school settings and love to build practical, realistic strategies that teachers and support staff can use day to day. We can also complete EHCP assessments within the school environment.
We work across the Midlands and North West of England, visiting clients at home, school, work, or wherever is most relevant to their needs. We also offer online sessions and coaching calls where appropriate, so geography doesn’t always have to be a barrier. If you’re unsure whether we cover your area, just drop us a message and we’ll let you know.

Consultancy & Professional Development

We also provide specialist consultancy for schools, services, and families — helping embed OT principles into environments and practice. Our team offers clinical supervision and mentoring for professionals seeking to grow in specialist OT roles.
