Brief Description of Qualifications and Experience:

I qualified as an Occupational Therapist in 2012 with a BSc (Hons) in Occupational Therapy from the University of Salford. Committed to continual professional development, I have since completed a Postgraduate Certificate in Complex Rehabilitation at Liverpool John Moores University, along with specialist training in Cognitive Rehabilitation and Bobath principles for neurological rehabilitation.

I am a registered member of the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC) and the British Association of Occupational Therapists (BAOT), upholding best practice standards across all aspects of my work.

My primary area of specialism is neurological rehabilitation, with experience supporting individuals following traumatic brain injury, stroke, and complex neurological diagnoses, as-well as dementia, disorders of consciousness and functional mental health. I provide client-centred, evidence-based therapy across both inpatient and community settings, with the aim of enhancing independence, function, and quality of life.

I also have experience working in diverse clinical environments including dementia care, intermediate care, poly-trauma services, and mental health. My role within a specialist neuro-rehabilitation unit involves delivering holistic, multidisciplinary interventions tailored to individuals with acquired brain injuries and long-term conditions.

I tailor interventions to each client’s unique presentation and goals, offering a high standard of care rooted in empathy, clinical reasoning, and collaborative practice.

What made you want to be an OT and/or what do you love about your job?

I am passionate about the connection between mood, motivation, and meaningful engagement in rehabilitation. I believe that when we understand what truly matters to each individual, we can better support their recovery journey—and that’s exactly the kind of person-centered approach taken at Creative Occupational Therapy. My interest in holistic wellbeing complements this, with ongoing studies to become a Reiki practitioner, as well as a personal practice in mindfulness and yoga. In my own time, I enjoy nurturing my wellbeing through tending to my allotment and spending time outdoors which reflect my belief in purposeful occupation as a foundation for health and recovery.
