Sensory Assessments

EHCP (Tribunal ready) assessment and report including recommendations for treatment

A full assessment to identify needs relating to fine and gross motor skills, visual perception and visual motor integration, handwriting, sensory processing and integration and activities of daily living skills if impactful to education.

The EHCP assessment provides detailed information about how the child’s / young adults needs are affecting their ability to access education and details the input and support they require to meet their potential, from an OT perspective. If the child / young adult is attending school, the assessment would usually take place there.

Litigation sensory assessment and report including recommendations for treatment

A full assessment to identify how the individual’s needs impact sensory processing and functioning across all areas of their life, including fine and gross motor skills, visual perception and visual motor integration, daily living skills, cognitive skills, emotional regulation and community access.

The report aims to provide a clear representation of their needs as well as providing a clear rationale and recommendations for intervention. This assessment may take place at the client’s home, school, work or any other relevant environment. Observations in numerous environments may be required.

Private sensory family assessment and letter of clinical recommendation

An assessment and a letter of clinical recommendation, aimed to identify and explain the individual’s sensory processing needs to build an understanding of the individual and how best to support them.

This letter a briefer document than other reports we offer (EHCP reports for example), to accommodate the requirements of families, and personalised recommendations that will be most beneficial to help reach their potential. This assessment may take place at the client’s home, school, work or any other relevant environment.

Bolt on sensory and/ or daily living skills support plan

Can be added to any package above and provides a bespoke support plan detailing tailored strategies and ideas to support specific areas highlighted in assessment.

Bolt on parent / carer coaching session

Can be added to any package above and provides an online one to one coaching session to support and guide parents with implementing reccomended strategies and support plan.

Video call will be transcribed with notes shared.

Whole School

Setting up universal OT approach

Includes a visit to school, training on sensory processing, age-appropriate daily living skills, school wide sensory and emotional regulation, environmental adaptations and equipment recommendations.

Neurological Assessments

Litigation adult neurological assessment and report including recommendations for treatment

A full initial assessment and report to identify all functional and environmental needs relating to cognitive, physical, emotional and social skills.

Sensory assessment may include analysis of sensation, perceptual abilities, visual processing screen and/or top-level sensory processing needs only. Performance and independence in meaningful occupations, roles and activities of daily living are evaluated, including (but not limited to) daily routine, sleep, self-care, household tasks, community access, employment, family roles and leisure occupations. Assessment includes information gathering, liaison with family members/carers, direct interview, functional observations, upper limb screening, standardised cognitive assessment (where applicable) and person-centered goal exploration and/or discussion around hopes for the future. The report aims to provide a clear representation of need as well as providing a clear rationale and recommendations for intervention.

Litigation child neurological assessment and report including recommendations for treatment

Age-appropriate evaluation of functional independence, motor skills, play, and emotional regulation.

As above but tailored to children’s occupations and participation challenges. Assessment specifics are dependent on the child’s age but evaluation predominantly focusses on functional independence within daily routines, fine and gross motor skills, play/leisure, sleep, fatigue, self-care, community access, emotional regulation and social skills.

Litigation neurological + sensory assessment and report to include recommendations for treatment

A combined initial neurological and sensory processing/integration assessment and report for complex litigation needs.

This includes all aspects of the full neuro and sensory assessments (or tailored as necessary based on need and/or child/adult).

Private neuro family assessment and letter of clinical recommendation

Specialist

Upper limb (joint with physio)

An upper-limb assessment to identify range of movement and functional needs, with brief report to provide recommendations for rehabilitation treatment plan.

Usually joint with physiotherapy.

Support with benefits application

Assessment and report for areas specific to DLA/PIP application to provide clinical evidence of functional impact.

IMPORTANT: Assessments are focussed on identifying needs and support required. Treatment and therapy programmes/support plans are additional to the report and are not included in standard assessment fees.
